FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: device for electromagnetic mixing of liquid center of round- or round-and-square-section ingots in the course of their continuous casting has closed rectangular magnetic circuit built up of separate cores of variable length. Multiple-section coils are arranged around each core; sections are cumulatively or differentially connected in series or in parallel and in series depending on supply frequency; coils wound on opposite cores of magnetic circuit may be interconnected differentially only.
