AUTOMATIC DRAW GEAR Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: transport engineering; draw gears and couplers. SUBSTANCE: proposed automatic draw has pulling member consisting of metal housing made in form of hollow cylinder with cone-catcher at one side and cover connected with housing by thread at other side. Cover is provided with space accommodating sealed- contact reed relay. Housing and cover are provided with stops preventing displacement of rubber band. The latter has oil space and neck with rigidly fitted-in threaded union to turn on hose connecting distributor of tractor hydraulic system with band space. Coupling member is made in form of metal pin hinge-coupled with coupling rod on which rubber member is rigidly fitted. Rubber member has space filled up with air at a pressure of several atmospheres. Space in nose part of rubber member is charged with magnetic powder acting onto contacts of reed relay placed in hydraulic operating system of draft gear. This system is furnished with toggle switch, pilot lamp and electromagnet coupled with distributor of tractor hydraulic system. Draft gear provides automation of coupling and uncoupling, rigid slackless coupling and damping of shock loads. EFFECT: reduced braking distance and fuel consumption, increased capacity and improved operating conditions. 5 dwg
