FIELD: blasting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of blasting, in particular to initiating devices, and can be used to ignite pyrotechnic compositions and explosives. The electric igniter with self-disconnection from the current source contains a housing in which a clip with a working charge and an igniting attachment adjacent to the incandescent bridge is placed; providing an electrical circuit between the terminals of the electric igniter, and a unit that provides a break in the electrical circuit, which is a non-conductive ring and a collet inserted into the holder, pressed by the support, the collet is a cap with spring-loaded petals that provide electrical contact between the holder and the support, while the ring is separated from of the holder with an insulating gasket and is made with a shoulder protruding at a fragility along the outer diameter with the possibility of deformation of the ring into the space between the holder and the support under the pressure of gaseous products when the sample and charge are ignited and the collet leaf ring is pressed by the shoulder to the support until the electrical contact is interrupted.
EFFECT: when the electric igniter is triggered, a reliable disconnection from the current source occurs.
