PROCESS DETERMINING COMPONENT BY COMPONENT FLOW RATE OF THREE-COMPONENT GAS AND LIQUID FLOW AND DEVICE FOR ITS REALIZATION Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: measurement technology, specifically, determination of component by component flow rate of three-component gas and liquid flow of oil well. SUBSTANCE: main and additional identical to it electrical fields are formed in gas and liquid flow with the aid of setting and pickup coils placed in analyzed medium. Additional electric field is arranged along direction of flow in front of main electric field. Lines of force of both electric fields are directed perpendicular to flow. Dependence of electrical conductance of flow on time is measured by way of integration of instantaneous values of currents fed to pickup coil of main electric field. Then fractional content of components of flow is found by measured value of conductance in accordance with experimental dependence of electrical conductance of medium on time and content of components of liquid and gas in it. Later additional electric field is removed and dependence of electrical conductance on time is determined during same time interval and difference between dependencies of first and second measurements is found and compared with analogous differences experimentally obtained for flow carrying same components but different flow velocities and flow velocity is found. Whole cycle of actions is repeated many times, obtained values of components of analyzed medium and flow velocity are averaged and flow rate of analyzed medium is computed by averaged data with due account of sectional area of liquid and gas flow perpendicular to velocity. To exclude effect of paraffinizing film on electrodes on accuracy of measurement setting and pickup coils are heated by electric current flowing through them to temperature ensuring melting of film. Device for realization of proposed process has unit setting input voltages, setting coils 2, 3 and pickup coils 4, 5 of main electric field, setting coils 6, 7 and pickup coils 8, 9 of additional electric field connected to ground bus, integrator 10 connected to pickup coils 4, 5 of main electric field, analog-to-digital converter 11 placed between integrator and unit 12 for control and information processing coupled by control bus to units 1, 10 and 11.
