FIELD: power engineering. SUBSTANCE: in order to prevent conductor burnout during deicing operations on power transmission lines, line currents are measured at minimum three time moments t1,t2,t3 and measurement results are used to compute parameters of mathematical model of exponential conductor with time constant τ of heated-conductor temperature increase from initial value at time moment t0 to steady state value. Measuring voltage drop across line at time moments t1,t2,t3 including measurements made within time interval not over two estimate values of τ from moment t0, and using thus measured currents and voltages in calculating conductor temperature by numeric method have enabled automatic inclusion of impact of uncontrolled factors on heat balance of conductor. EFFECT: reduced temperature measurement error brought in due to atmospheric factors. 5 cl, 1 dwg
