FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: gear controlling sleet formation has first generator 1 with resonance element 2 open to atmospheric precipitation, second generator 3 with resonance 4 closed to atmospheric precipitation, unit 5 measuring frequency difference. Output of first generator, first precipitation sensor 7 fitted with heating element 8, temperature- sensitive element 10, second precipitation sensor 11 and computing unit are connected to first input of unit 5. Temperature-sensitive element, first and second precipitation sensors and output of unit measuring frequency difference are connected to inputs of computing unit. Output of second generator is connected to second input of unit measuring frequency difference. Resonance elements come in the form of piezoelements and precipitation sensors are manufactured in the form of pairs of electrodes spaced apart. EFFECT: decreased error in determination of quantity and intensity of sleet formation, reduced lag in determination of start of sleet formation. 1 dwg
