FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves investigating structural optical properties of lacrimal fluid in polarized light. Penetration coefficient is determined by means of polarization photometer in optical units of sample in phospholipid medium with 10% lecithin solution forming no optically active structures. Texture formation activation is studied by means of polarization microscope in native lacrimal fluid sample. Active formations are seen as light areas on dark background. Texture size in each sample is evaluated using five-point system. Lacrimal fluid penetration coefficient being lower than 0.2 optical units and dendrites of size 2.5 units and larger are present in native lacrimal fluid textures, marked exudative response is predicted to take place in postoperative period. EFFECT: high accuracy of prognosis; enhanced effectiveness of treatment.
