FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves making corneoscleral incision in the superior sector. The anterior capsule is opened with a linear incision. Nucleus is put on iris with its superior equatorial part. Notches are produced like piece of cake on 1/4-1/3 of nucleus diameter. The nucleus is rotated with iris edge brought into the notch produced. The nucleus is transferred to the anterior chamber. The nucleus is turned with the notch towards the incision. The nucleus is fragmented along the notch. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in removing mature cataracts via small cut; reduced risk of traumatic complications.
