SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of preparing extracts of shark cartilage showing antiangiogenic, antitumor-proliferating, anti-inflammatory and anticollagenolytic activities. Method of preparing involves stages of preparing cartilage homogenate in an aqueous solution, centrifugation of homogenate and further fractionation up to preparing the complete extract containing molecules of molecular mass up to 500 kDa. Additional fractionation of extract results to preliminary characterization of its active components. Complete liquid extract can be used for treatment of patients with diseases or states including one or more etilogical components and involving tumor proliferation, angiogenesis, inflammations and collagenolysis.
