FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: active material of positive plates is not separated from grids and powder produced upon crushing of spent positive plates is subjected to heat treatment at 450-500 C until it grows yellow. Paste is prepared by mixing up powder and distilled water in definite proportions followed by adding sulfuric acid solution of specific gravity 1.40 g/cu.cm while intensively stirring them. Upon rubbing paste in grid the plates are compressed by passing them between rolls, dried out at 120 C for 20-25 s, and seasoned in the open for 4-6 min; then they are passed again between gauze- covered rolls. Upon compression the plates are held at temperature of 45-50 C and relative humidity of 95% for 16-18 h, then at same temperature and relative humidity of 75% for 20 h, and allowed to dry at temperature of 68070 C and relative humidity of maximum 20% for 12-14 h. Proposed method provides for long service life and capacity of reconditioned batteries, reduced material input for their reconditioning, more complete utilization of source material, and increased yield. EFFECT: provision for reconditioning any batteries irrespective of their condition.
