FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: egg sorting machine has feeding and orienting chain conveyor, distributing-sorting unit kinematically connected to chain conveyor, and sorting table. Intermediate sprockets are mounted in conveyor so as to be directly engaged with pulling chains. Intermediate and guide sprockets define cross transmission with center-to-center distance exceeding average value of outer diameter, but not exceeding the value of two pitches of chain transmission teeth divided by cosine of angle between line connecting sprocket axes and common tangent to pitch diameters of sprockets. Number of teeth of intermediate sprocket is equal to that of head sprocket multiplied by transmission ratio of chain transmission from unit to conveyor drive shaft and divided by number of chain pitches between spindles-rollers. Such arrangement of feeding conveyor reduces usage of metal for egg sorting machine. EFFECT: simplified construction and reduced breakage of eggs during sorting. 2 cl, 3 dwg
