FIELD: wood processing. SUBSTANCE: invention provides technology for production of vanillin, levulinic acid, and 5-hydroxymethylfurfurol from wood. For that, softwood is subjected to catalytic oxidation to yield vanillin and cellulose, followed by acid hydrolysis at 190-240 C of cellulose into levulinic acid and 5- hydroxymethylfurfurol.
