FIELD: heat-power engineering; spraying superheated steam and burning viscous fuels in boiler furnaces. SUBSTANCE: invention provides for high degree of preparation of fuel in inner cavity of injector due to increased time of presence of fuel in area of its interaction with high-energy steam before axial perforated partition and intensive crushing of fuel drops by supersonic jets of steam escaping from chordal passages of sprayer. Invention provides also for organization of combustion of viscous fuels in boiler furnace at excess air of 02<1% and incomplete combustion of CO2 XO2<10 ppm and emissions of nitrogen Nox<150 ppm. Vortex injector includes hollow cylindrical housing with the following components inside it: hollow fuel swirler where twisted fuel film is formed, steam swirler and steam sprayer with axial perforated partition; they are made in form of hollow bodies of revolution with passages for supply of steam circular clearance between parts and housing to inner cavity of injector.
