FIELD: calcination of loose raw materials. SUBSTANCE: rotary kiln has inclined cylindrical body, diaphragm secured on face of cold end body and charging assembly with scoop feeders and windows in kiln body for discharging of raw material from scoops into kiln. Rotary kiln also includes dust-settling diaphragm with longitudinal holes positioned along circumference and with pockets for collection of settled dust at holes and return in into kiln. Diaphragm is mounted directly behind scoop feeders and windows. Lower side of holes is made on level with lining. Rotary kiln makes it possible to reduce dust carrying away from kiln which may occur in process of raw material charging and calcination along with outgoing gases, which enables increase in finished product output.
