FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves selecting plants with long-pistillate flowers of plant group with heteromorphic self-sterility; isolating selected plants; effectuating artificial pollination or natural hybridization for initiating predetermined hybridization to obtain line composed of plants with long-pistillate flowers; effectuating artificial or natural hybridization of specimens of obtained line under condition of isolating this line from other lines; promoting seed germination for obtaining of parental seed line composed of plants with long-pistillate flowers; planting seeds of parental line (line A) composed of plants with long-pistillate flowers; planting seeds of other line (line B) in the vicinity of line A, with plants of line B being composed of plants with short-pistillate flowers or of plants with both short-pistillate and long-pistillate flowers; collecting seeds of line A pollinated with line B pollen. Method allows large quantities of F1 hybrid seeds to be produced by hybridization of A and B lines. EFFECT: simplified method and provision for commercial production of F1 hybrid seeds. 3 cl, 4 tbl, 3 ex
