FIELD: powder metallurgy, particularly, manufacture of products with high mechanical properties and high wear resistance. SUBSTANCE: method includes preparation of mixture based on iron or iron-carbon compositions, molding of blank and its diffusion borating in powder filling, heating and hot second compaction. In so doing, prior to borating, blank is coated with nickel layer 20-30 mcm thick. Borating and hot second compaction are performed at temperature exceeding temperature of formation of eutectics in system Fe-B by 20-30 C. Borating takes 1.5-2.5 h. Heating before hot second compaction is effected by high-frequency currents for 30-40 s. Hot second compaction is performed by following settling in matrix. After hot second compaction, product is subjected to hardening in water and low- temperature tempering.
