FIELD: production of composite materials; applicable in metallurgy, mechanical and electrical engineering, and electronics. SUBSTANCE: method includes heating for melting matrix component, holding it in molten state and mixing with solid particles of reinforcing component. In this case, prior to heating for melting of matrix and reinforcing components in form of powders are mixed and treated with explosion at pressure of 10-200 kbar. Used for mixing is powder of matrix component with particles with average size of 0.1-6.5 and 6.5-50 of average size of powder particles of reinforcing component. In so doing, depending on size of powder of matrix component, prior to treatment with explosion, mixed powders of components are sintered or compacted. In mixing of components, content of reinforcing component amounts to 5-35 wt. % of total weight of powder. Before treatment with explosion, mixed powders of matrix and reinforcing components are additionally heated to temperature equalling 0.2-0.95 of melting temperature of matrix component.
