FIELD: nondestructive testing. SUBSTANCE: ultrasonic thickness gauge is intended for measurement of thickness of objects with substantially differing characteristics of propagation of ultrasound whose testing requires usage of pickups with different working frequencies. Proposed thickness gauge has synchronizer with three outputs, first and second ones being correspondingly connected to input of generator of sounding pulse and to first input of time interval meter, amplifier connected with output to second input of time interval meter. Gauge is supplemented with high-frequency filter with controlled cut-off frequency that is placed in series with amplifier. Control input of high-frequency filter is connected to third output of synchronizer. Cut-off frequency of high-frequency filter decreases with growth of time from moment of generation of sounding pulse. Initial value of cut-of frequency of high-frequency filter is chosen equal to working frequency of pickup having highest frequency that can be employed together with thickness gauge.
