FIELD: non-destructive test of materials and articles. SUBSTANCE: improved acoustic decoupling between radiation and receiving sections of ultrasonic converter with simultaneous simplification of its manufacturing technology are achieved thanks to fact that radiation and receiving sections include damper, piezoplate and protector anchored in casing mounted in body and acoustic insulator placed between surfaces of radiation and receiving section facing one another. Casing comprises two parts acoustically decoupled . Each part houses all elements of radiation and receiving sections correspondingly. Width of acoustic insulator equals width of surfaces of radiation and receiving sections facing one another with due account of double thickness of walls of casing. Acoustic insulator is manufactured from elastic material having thickness greater than distance between surfaces of radiation and receiving sections facing one another. EFFECT: simplified manufacturing technology and improved acoustic decoupling between radiation and receiving sections. 2 cl, 2 dwg
