FIELD: wood-working industry. SUBSTANCE: the tapering range is removed before sawing of logs into sectors. The planes of saw cuts are oriented normally to the top diameter and in the log axis. As a result, a squared timber in the butt end is obtained. Then, the timber is sawn into four sectors in the top end, orienting the saw cuts in the square diagonals. Then, the sectors are filed, the planes of saw cuts are directed through the points of intersection of the top diameter with the sector sides and perpendicularly to the timber side, after that before agglutination the sectors are oriented vertically, in turn by the top of the sectors up and down, combining the sector sides. EFFECT: expanded assortment of lumbers in section, reduced waste and labor content due to reduced number of saw cuts in a log and variation of arrangement of sectors before agglutination. 1 dwg
