FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to woodworking, particularly, to production of sliced veneer. Proposed method comprises crosswise cutting of logs into billets, lengthwise cutting of billets into cants, thermal treatment of billets for planning on slicing machine, stripping, slicing, drying and sizing. In cutting billets into cants, planes of first two outside opposite saw notches are oriented in parallel one with another and with billet axis. The next planes of saw notches are oriented in parallel with billet surface. Planes of outer and inner saw notches of each scant are oriented in parallel pairs and perpendicular to planes of the first two saw notches.
EFFECT: higher yield, reduced amount of wastes and lower labor input.
