FIELD: cutting of conveyer belts made of reinforced elastomer. SUBSTANCE: the belt to be cut is placed between two clamping blocks, and they are pressed to each other together with the belt positioned between them. At the same time the belts are cut by means of a knife with a drive, and the knife is moved along the clamping blocks and across the longitudinal arrangement of the belt through its material. At cutting the latter is caught on both sides by the knife cutting edges forming an acute angle between then. Each cutting edge is made straight or convex towards the belt. The cutting device has a clamping mechanism of two clamping blocks installed across the belt for pressing to each other and clamping the belt between them. The device has a knife at least with one cutting edge installed for movement along the clamping mechanism with the aid of a drive. The knife cutting edge is made straight or convex towards the belt. An additional cutting edge is positioned at an acute angle to this cutting edge for placement of the material belt at its cutting between both cutting edges. EFFECT: enhanced durability at cutting of any belts provided with reinforcing strips. 13 cl, 12 dwg
