FILTER PRESS FOR FILTRATION OF SUSPENSIONS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

Abstract RU 2159661 C1

FIELD: chemical engineering; filtration of industrial medium- and difficulty-filtered suspensions. SUBSTANCE: filter press includes stack of filtering plates which are suspended with the aid of brackets from upper beam between front and rear uprights with the aid of brackets. Each bracket is provided with two rollers which are shifted relative to each other along longitudinal axis of filter press. Each bracket is provided with two stops at the edge whose height is adjustable; coupling device is fitted in center portion. Each stop has two nuts with whose help it is secured to bracket. Upper beam includes two longitudinal bars which are engageable with stops. Base suspension is fed to filtering plates which are compressed preliminarily by means of clamping mechanism. Liquid phase passes through filtering baffles and is discharged from filter press. Retained sediment fills chambers of filtering plates. Upon completion of filtration, hold-down plate is brought to extreme non-working position at rear upright by means of plate clamping mechanism. Endless chain starts moving and shifting the hooks mounted on it. First hook which gets engageable with filtering plate adjacent to hold-down plate releases coupling device from common stack of plates and move this plate to hold-down plate. In the course of motion, stops get engageable with longitudinal bars, thus protecting the plate against cocking and spontaneous disconnection from hook. As this plate approaches hold-down plate, it is released from hook. Remaining plates move similarly by means of other hooks. During motion of plates, sediment is separated from filtering baffles by gravity and falls on respective conveyer. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of motion mechanism during discharge of sediment due to avoidance of cocking and swinging of plates. 5 dwg
