FIELD: environment control. SUBSTANCE: cleaning of gas emissions from aromatic and aliphatic compounds is effected at temperature of 120 to 160 C by passing the emissions through catalytic composition consisting of solid contact with specific surface of 0.2 to 1.0 sq.m/g heated preliminarily to 800 1350 C and palladium catalyst (o.1 to 3% of palladium applied on aluminum oxide carrier). EFFECT: possibility of cleaning industrial emissions from toxic agents (methanol, cumene) without resinification at degree of destruction no less than 97 to 98% in presence of aromatic hydroperoxides causing resinification on other catalytic compositions. 3 cl, 1 tbl, 4 ex
