DEVICE FOR BIOLOGICAL CLEANING OF WASTE WATER Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: biological cleaning of waste water; water protective measures for decontamination of water at agricultural production of water. SUBSTANCE: proposed device includes canal located at slope with watertight bedrock and hydroponics cultivated in its waterway and slope sown with perennial herbs with filtering under-layer. Canal is divided into separate sections located one below another. Sections are interconnected in succession by means of pipe culverts and layer of filtering material. Pipe culverts connect beginning of one section with end of other section. Mouth parts of pipe culverts are fitted with attachments - aerators. Filtering layers are located on watertight bedrock. Surface of filtering layer is coated with vegetable substrates on which hydrophilous perennial herbs are cultivated. Water vegetation cultivated in canals is located in zones: narrow-leaved cat-tail - in upper sections; then, club-rush, Canada water thyme, common duckweed positioned in succession from top to bottom and water cleanness indicating plants are found in lower section. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of water cleaning; enhanced operational reliability; stabilization of throughput capacity of structure due to optimal conditions of biogeocenosis of water vegetation and hydrophilous herbs and constant aeration of water being purified. 5 cl, 2 dwg, 1 tbl
