FIELD: nuclear power engineering; recovery of radioactive wastes by immobilizing them in stable solid blocks. SUBSTANCE: curing agent used in monolithic block is mineral-like material that immobilizes component of radioactive wastes in its structure. Mineral-like material may be pyroxene, pyrosilicate, garnet, titanium silicate. Block has crystalline, glass- crystalline, or amorphous structure. At least one of minerals chosen from aegirite, jadeite, aegirite-augite, arfvedsonite, orthite, and schorlite groups is used as pyroxene and pyrosilicate. Andradite is used as garnet and lovchorrite, as titanium silicate. Components of radioactive wastes are used as cation exchangers of stable elements in natural mineral structure. Monolithic block may have following proportion of ingredients, mass percent: nuclide oxides of radioactive wastes - 3-60; mineral-like material - the rest. EFFECT: improved radiation and chemical stability of blocks, enlarged range of recovered wastes, reduced cost of curing process. 6 cl, 5 tbl
