FIELD: motor vehicles where steady dc voltage should be maintained. SUBSTANCE: voltage regulator has voltage stabilizer built around series-connected voltage regulator diodes and resistor, input transistor whose collector is connected through limiting resistor to plus terminal of power supply, output transistor with field winding inserted in its collector where it is shorted out by diode; output transistor emitter is connected to minus terminal of power supply; newly introduced in device is one mode voltage stabilizer built around series-connected voltage regulator diode and two resistors; input transistor emitter is connected to mid-point between resistor and voltage regulator diode of voltage stabilizer; plus lead of this voltage regulator diode is connected to minus terminal of power supply; input transistor base is connected to mid-point interconnecting two resistors of additional voltage stabilizer; minus lead of this voltage regulator diode is connected to plus terminal of power supply; input transistor collector is connected through resistor to output transistor base and the latter is connected through bias resistor to minus terminal of power supply.
