FIELD: mining industry, methods of isolation of underground mining operations in opencast and underground mining, mainly, in permafrost zones. SUBSTANCE: method includes stripping and mining operations by opencast method; stripping, development and stoping operations in underground conditions; formation on upper platform of last bench behind the boundary of opencast operations, of inclined artificial plane of sliding, on which waterproof film is laid; mounting of thawing elements circuit above film; building up of ice layer, at least, 0.5 m thick; filling of overburden rocks onto ice with initial thickness, but not less than depth of maximum seasonal thawing in given region; thawing of ice layer, after stopping of opencast mining operations for provision of lubrication, and all supporting members are at same time withdrawn to provoke sliding motion of overburden rocks to worked out space of opencast. EFFECT: provided reliable isolation between opencast and underground mining operations, filling of free space between opencast flank and internal dump, and reduced disturbed land areas. 2 dwg
