METHOD OF PRODUCING NICKEL CARBONYL POWDERS WITH CHAIN STRUCTURE AND BULK DENSITY OF LESS THAN 1 Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

Abstract RU 2161549 C1

0 G/CU. CM. FIELD: manufacture of storage batteries. SUBSTANCE: method is realized by heat decomposition of nickel carbonyl vapors in free vacuum of vertical cylindrical apparatus - decomposer with external heat supply and dilution of nickel carbonyl vapors with diluting gas from 10 to 80 vol.% with addition of oxygen in amount of 0.01-0.1 vol.%. In so doing, sizes of powder particles (measured by Fisher method) are regulated within 0.5-5.0 mcm by introduction of heat to upper zone of decomposer not exceeding 20% of total height of apparatus in amount of 800-2150 kcal/cu.m of supplied vapors of nickel carbonyl. Diluting gas is preliminarily heated up to 50-200 C. Nickel carbonyl vapors and diluting gas are introduced into upper part of decomposer apparatus separately. EFFECT: provision of control of process of purposeful production of nickel carbonyl powders with complex of preset physico-technological properties. 2 cl, 3 tbl, 13 ex
