FIELD: adjustable wrenches. SUBSTANCE: working surface of fixed jaw 6 of wrench is square to axis of hollow hand. Worm 26 and lead screw 27 are coaxial and rigidly interconnected. Handle outer surface has hole 18 for installation of slider 4. Hole 18 crosses longitudinal recess 17 on the side of fixed jaw 6. Motion of slider 4 over recess 17 ensures rotation of lead screw 27 and worm 26 engaged with teeth 25 of movable jaw to cause smooth motion of the latter. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 5 dwg
