METHOD OF MANUFACTURING BLANKS OF SECTORS WITH SHOULDERS FOR TIRE CASING ASSEMBLY DRUMS (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: equipment for tire manufacture. SUBSTANCE: method includes manufacture of ribs and shells of sector bases, cutting of shells, fixing of ribs relative to sector bases; welding of ribs to sector bases. Method also provides for manufacture of shoulders. Shoulders and shells of sector bases are made with allowances for outer and inner diameters. Shells are worked by internal profile. Shells of sector bases are worked by external profile on edges symmetrically to middle part for obtaining of circular bands. Shoulders are installed on circular bands, produced unit is rigidly fixed, and base holes are made in zones of circular bands symmetrical to middle part. Lines of cuts of shells are counted from base holes. Then kinematic holes are made in sector ribs and blanks are worked by joined ends. Invention provides for versions of method realization. Method ensures combined cutting in shell unit of sector bases and shoulder shells, sets single process base from which diameters of shells of sector bases and shoulders are calculated that guarantees obtaining of designed allowance for length of circumference for compensation of clearances from cutting and for working of ends by joints and allows obtaining one plane of cuttings over entire drum width and use of two shells for manufacture of shoulders.
