DRAWBAR Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed drawbar has mechanism for catching and holding of loop. Rod of mechanism and its flexible member are installed in housing secured on towing crossmember of frame. Rod has two collars arranged in housing consisting of inner and outer cups provided with hole for rod in bottoms. Inner cup is made split, with neck enclosing the rod, its inner surface being made cylindrical with diameter equal to diameter of rod collars, and outer surface is made constricting towards cup bottom. Inner surface of outer cup has step for bottom of inner cup and its part is equidistant to conical part of inner cup surface and lower part is made cylindrical. Side surfaces of collars and inner surfaces of cups pointed to each other are inclined and form spaces accommodating flexible perforated members. Rod collars are trapezium-shaped in section. Surfaces of collars and cups pointed to each other are parallel in pairs. EFFECT: improved elastic characteristics of buffer within wide range of alternating values, reduced shrinkage of flexible members, eliminated play and reduced dynamic loads. 3 cl, 2 dwg
