FIELD: water supply system, more particularly purification of natural water containing dissolved organo-iron compounds, and water preparation system for water supply purposes. SUBSTANCE: original water is aerated and directed into bioreactor ins ascending current at rate of 3-4 mm/s. Destruction of complex organoiron compounds occurs due to metabolysis of iron-oxidizing microorganisms during self-spontanesous discharge of excessive amount of biomass. Density of microorganisms is not in excess of 10-15% in total volume of working zone of bioreactor. After biological purification, water is directed for filtration. EFFECT: simplified technology of water preparation which eliminates necessity of regeneration of bioreactor, biomass does not develop therein, secondary contamination of purified water is thus avoided due to biocorrosion and decontamination with chlorine. 2 dwg, 1 ex
