FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to water supply and can be used in water treatment systems to improve the quality of drinking water. The method of purifying underground water from stable forms of iron involves controlling pH of the purified water, followed by filtration and restoring pH to standard values. Carbon dioxide gas is fed into the water to be purified before a centrifugal pump and pH of the solution is lowered to 4-5. The space over the surface of the water is evacuated. The carbon dioxide gas is recycled by pumping out after decarbonation.
EFFECT: high efficiency and environmental friendliness of the process of purifying underground water from stable forms of colloidal iron.
