FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: in cyclic internal combustion engine with independent constant-volume combustion chamber 1, compression chamber, combustion chamber and expansion chamber 16 are essentially three independent separate parts, each adapted to provide optimum execution of its function without relative influence onto one another. According to proposed method, fuel injector 6, in process of operation at low power output, is overlapped at filling of constant-volume combustion chamber 1, and small amount of additional air from external reservoir 23A is introduced at high temperature into combustion chamber 1 exactly after intake of compressed air from engine compressor 26. Air is kept in external reservoir at high pressure and at ambient temperature. Heating of small amount of additional air owing to contact with hot compressed air in combustion chamber 1, its expansion and considerable pressure rise in combustion chamber 1 are provided. EFFECT: provision of operation of proposed engine at sufficient power output. 6 cl, 3 dwg
