FIELD: radio engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention specifically refers to transceiving equipment for communication and radiolocation employed to track aerological radiosondes and meteorological rockets. Antenna system of meteorological locator has four- segment antenna array, small antenna array, two radiation-pattern forming circuits, transceiver and microprocessor. Each segment includes array of twelve radiators arranged in four rows and four stacks. Output of each segment is connected to proper input/output of first radiation-pattern forming circuit. Small antenna array has four identical radiators placed in center of four-segment antenna array. Output of each individual radiator is connected to proper input of second radiation-pattern-forming circuit. Inputs/outputs of both radiation-pattern forming circuits are connected to corresponding inputs/outputs of transceiver. Controlling outputs of microprocessor are connected to controlling inputs of radiation-pattern forming circuits and transceiver. Output of the latter is output of antenna system. EFFECT: increased efficiency and reliability of tracking of aerological radiosondes especially at low altitudes and with great angular velocities of travel and simultaneous reduction of expenditures for hardware. 5 dwg, 1 tbl
