FIELD: radio engineering; communication and radar transceiver equipment. SUBSTANCE: proposed weather-radar antenna system designed for tracking aerological radiosondes and meteorological rockets and suited in particular to track them at low altitudes in extreme weather conditions due to adequate coordination of polarization characteristics of radiosonde and weather radar antennas has first and second pattern-forming circuits, large and small antenna arrays whose radiators are connected to respective outputs of second and first pattern-forming circuits, transceiver, microprocessor whose output is connected to control inputs of transceiver and both pattern-forming circuits; novelty is that that system has newly introduced 3-dB quadrature bridge inserted between transceiver and circular power splitters of first pattern-forming circuit, and that small antenna array has four dipoles disposed in rhomboid manner in center of large antenna array and feed points of these dipoles are connected to outputs of first pattern-forming circuit so that first and second dipoles form circular-polarization horizontal-component strip while third and fourth ones form vertical- component strip.
