FIELD: organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: (fluoroaryl)borane of general formula 3: (3), where R1-R5 denote hydrogen or fluorine atoms, alkyl or alkoxy groups, provided that at least one of R1-R5 is fluorine atom; Xв denotes fluorine, bromine, chlorine, or iodine atom; and n is equal to 2 or 3, is prepared by interaction of fluoroarylmagnesium compound 1: (1), in which R1-R5 are as indicated above and Xa is chlorine, bromine or iodine atom, with boron halide B(Xв)3 (Xв as above) in solvent (a) containing diethyl ether and/or tetrahydrofuran and solvent (b) with boiling point superior to those of diethyl ether and tetrahydrofuran. Method is distinguished by that reaction is carried out in solvent (a), after which reaction mixture is added to solvent (b) preheated to 80 C or higher and solvent (a) is then distilled off.
