METHOD OF INDICATION OF TUBERCULOSIS MYCOBACTERIUM IN ATMOSPHERE AIR Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, phthisiology. SUBSTANCE: method of indication of tuberculosis mycobacteria in air medium involves passing air sample through electric field. Bacteria are charged in the zone of negative charge and precipitated on positively charged electrode made as a changeable metallic tray covered with liquid nutrient medium for culturing tuberculosis mycobacteria. The latter are cultured for 2 days, concentrated and supernatant is removed. Obtained precipitate is resuspended and tuberculosis mycobacteria are identified by molecular-genetic method using polymerase chain reaction. Method ensures to detect tuberculosis mycobacteria in air for short time (3-5 days). Method provides to reveal minimal concentrations of tuberculosis mycobacteria that are impossible to detect by methods of bacterioscopy and cultural diagnosis.
