FIELD: water supply; applicable in water intake from surface water reservoir under conditions of Siberia and the Extreme North regions. SUBSTANCE: device for water intake has an intake vessel, hydraulic elevator, intake head and pump interconnected by pressure and supply pipelines, air receiver and pipeline of compressed air with valves connected to pressure and supply pipelines and receiver. Provided in intake head are curved spiral guides at least four in number installed at angle of 90 deg to one another. Spiral grooves are made in hydraulic elevator on internal surface of its nozzle part. EFFECT: provided design efficiency of water intake during formation of slush ice in water reservoir and elimination of reasons for water freezing in pressure and supply pipelines at subzero temperatures during pump shutdown. 3 dwg
