TECHNIQUE ENLARGING CAPACITY OF SETTLING BASIN OF TAILING DUMP Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: in process of filling of tailing dump with pulp accelerated build-up of screen from tailings is conducted over upper slope of dikes by way of layer by layer cutting of beach by bucket which is attached with the aid of cable to two mechanical chassis displaying positive buoyancy and equipped with pulling winches to enlarge capacity of settling basin, especially for winter season in areas with long periods of negative temperatures. First chassis is located on boundary of beach and settling basin, second chassis is positioned on ridge of dike, is loaded thanks to pulling effort formed by winch with movement of bucket. Then bucket is transported to ridge of dike where it is unloaded and is returned to boundary of beach and settling basin for due loading. Mechanical chassis with positive buoyancy is moved in sequence over entire perimeter of tailing dump to enlarge area of settling basin. EFFECT: enlarged capacity of settling basin. 1 cl, 3 dwg
