FIELD: synthetic swelling clay minerals. SUBSTANCE: clay minerals are composed of elementary three-layer plates consisting of central layer of metal ions (octahedral layer) encircled by two tetrahedral layers containing silicon atom. In this case elementary plates are not obligatory laid in package. Sizes of clay plates vary from 0.01 to 1 mcm. Number of elementary three-layer plates laid into package vary from one to twenty. In octahedral layer not more than 30 at.% of metal ions are replaced with ions of lower valence, and in tetrahedral layer not above 15 at.% of silicon ions are replaced with ions of lower valence. Materials are produced by bringing pH of aqueous liquid containing clay components to value of 3-9 and liquid temperature from 60 to 350 C. EFFECT: catalytic activity of produced minerals. 25 cl, 12 ex
