METHOD OF BLUNTING OF ARTICLE SHARP EDGES (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

Abstract RU 2163226 C1

FIELD: methods of blunting of sharp edges of articles made of fragile nonmetallic materials, namely, glass; applicable in various fields of engineering and production. SUBSTANCE: method includes heating of at least one surface of edge with some part of laser beam or with one of two separate beams to temperature not exceeding the temperature of material melting and the other surface of article edge is heated by other part of beam. In this case, laser beam used for heating is elliptical in cross-section on material surface. EFFECT: sharp increase of productivity and quality of blunting with possibility of efficient application o claimed method for blunting edges of articles of the widest class of materials including single crystals. 5 cl, 7 dwg, 1 tbl, 1 ex
