APPARATUS FOR MOUNTING GRINDING DISC Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: machine tool manufacture, possibly high-speed and depth grinding of different type hard-to-grind materials having tendency to formation of flaws such as burnouts and microcracking. SUBSTANCE: apparatus for mounting grinding disc includes housing and sleeve with elastic corrugated member. It is also provided with double-row rolling ball bearing whose outer race is sleeve with lengthwise grooves for balls in its opening and whose inner race is housing with two rows of longitudinal grooves. Outer and inner lengthwise grooves are made in recesses and protrusions of corrugated member in order to increase its responsibility. Oscillations applied upon rotation motion of disc in direction coincided with rotation axis of disc increase vibration proofness of system at operation. In the result of such application relief of ground surface is significantly enhanced due to cutting off protrusions caused by surface roughness and bulks formed at grinding. EFFECT: enhanced quality of ground surface due to improved stability and favorable kinematics of relative motion of disc and part. 5 dwg
