FIELD: petrochemical processes. SUBSTANCE: hydrogen and hydrocarbon stream containing C4-hydrocarbons including butanes, butanes, butadienes, and vinylacetylene are fed into distillation tower-type reactor containing catalyst bed including platinum, palladium, or rhodium hydrogenation catalyst, which is prepared in the form of distillation structure and which is designed for selective hydrogenation of part of vinylacetylene and 1,2-butadiene. Reaction mixture is fractionally distilled to remove heavy fraction and overhead including practically all C4-hydrocarbons.
