SUBSTANCE: invention proposes a method for preparing cyclohexane by hydrogenation of benzene wherein reactor works under pressure when the reaction mixture boils under low absolute partial pressure of hydrogen in the range from about 0.1 pound per square inch to less 200 pounds per square inch and absolute pressure of top distillate fractions is from 0 to 350 pounds per square inch. Catalyst is developed in the form of structure for catalytic distillation and reaction occurs in parallel with distillation. Benzene is fed by pipeline (1) in place above the catalyst layer (12) and hydrogen is fed in place lower of the catalyst layer (12) by pipeline (2). All top distillate fractions can be recovered as phlegm to provide cooling into the catalyst layer. Invention provides enhancing the conversion of benzene to cyclohexane.
