FIELD: production of calcined pellets. SUBSTANCE: unit has rotating drum, device for fuel combustion and gas duct installed on the side of unloading. Drum has zones of production of green pellets, their drying, heating, calcination and cooling. Drum different zones are lined with different materials. Device for fuel combustion is installed in zone of calcination on the side of unloading at a distance determined by formula L = K1·K2·D, where K1 = 0.35-0.45 is coefficient taking into account place of location of device for fuel combustion; K2 = 7-10 is coefficient of unit length-diameter ratio; D is diameter of unit, m. Device for fuel combustion is installed to provide for its motion along drum axis. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl, 2 dwg
