FIELD: iron and steel industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of ferrous metallurgy, namely to the production of iron ore pellets. The formation of a skull on the bottom of the pelletizer is carried out and the wet charge is loaded into the pelletizer in two streams. Coal fines in the amount of 2-6% of its flow rate are fed into the first charge stream to form a coal-charge mixture and slurries of spent engine oil preheated to 30-90°C are introduced in the amount of 1-8% of the charge flow rate of the first stream. The specified mixture is introduced into the compressed air stream with the formation of a gas-coal-charge jet. A zone occupied by the charge and a zone free from the charge are formed on the bottom of the pelletizer, and nucleation is carried out by spraying the charge with a gas-coal-charge jet oriented to the skull in the zone free from the charge, to obtain a dense layer of wet charge. The mentioned dense layer of wet charge is divided into embryos, the skull is cleaned from the embryos, the shell of the pellets is formed by pre-crumpling the embryos with the charge of the second stream to the pellets and heat treatment is carried out.
EFFECT: invention provides increased strength and yield of suitable pellets.
