FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, particularly, to production of iron-ore pellets. Wet charge is fed into pelletizer in two flows and scull is formed on pelletizer bottom. Coal fines are fed into the first flow of charge in amount of 2–6 % of its consumption. Waste engine oil sludge in amount of 1–8 % of charge flow rate of first flow is mixed with sulfite-yeast brew in amount of 5–50 % of sludge weight, forming the main flow of free-flowing oil liquid, which is then heated. Mixture containing coal fines, charge and easy-flowing oil liquid is fed into drum mixer and mixed for 1–10 minutes, after which it is directed into compressed air flow. Zone occupied with charge and a zone free from charge are formed on the bottom of the pelletizer. Nucleation is carried out by sputtering the surface of the scull to obtain a dense layer of the charge in the charge-free zone. Said dense layer of wet charge is divided into nuclei by dividers ribs. Scull is cleaned from nuclei. Shell of pellets is formed by additional lumping of nuclei with charge of the second flow to pellets. Pellets are thermally treated. Surface of the ribs of the dividers is wetted with a free-flowing oil liquid, which is taken from the main flow of the liquid, and is supplied through the oil liquid supply path to the ribs of the divider by nozzles.
EFFECT: invention provides increased strength of calcined pellets, reduced fuel consumption, utilization of combustible industrial wastes.
