FIELD: compressor stations of main gas pipelines. SUBSTANCE: method is designed for control of heat removal when cooling of pumped-over natural gas. Irrigation is performed only in zone adjacent to output end of tube bank of heat exchanger and adjusted by successive connection of irrigating atomizers starting from output (according to cooled gas) end of tube bank. Each subsequent atomizer is connected after preceding atomizer reaches efficiency sufficient for full evaporation of water from heat-exchanger surface. Number of connected atomizers is determined by checking the correspondence of cooled-gas temperature at tube bank output with preset temperature range. Proposed method makes it possible to reduce consumption of water used for irrigation of single-pass air-cooled heat exchanger. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 cl, 3 dwg
